The first meeting of the Organizing Committee of the Kyokushin Karate World Cup took place on April 9, 2018, in the State Duma Committee on Physical Culture, Sport, Tourism and Youth Affairs. The meeting approved the list of Organizing Committee members, which included Deputies of the State Duma and the Moscow City Duma, executives of various establishments, and businesspeople. The Committee was formed due to proactive work of Gerasimenko Nikolai Fedorovich, a Chairman of the Board of Trustees of the Kyokushin Karate Union of Russia and a Deputy of the 2nd-7th State Duma.

Chairman of the 7th State Duma Committee on Physical Culture, Sport, Tourism and Youth Affairs;
Zhurova Svetlana Sergeevna
First Deputy Chairman of the 7th State Duma Committee on International Affairs. Olympic Champion.

The Presidium of the World Cup is now being formed; along with Yasuhiro Shichinohe – a Director General of the I.K.O. "Kyokushin kaikan Union" – the list will include prominent statesmen and public figures of Russia.

Nogami Kotaro, a Deputy Secretary General of the Prime Minister of Japan, sent his greetings to organizers.
